    Caotime Logo (2011)

This was my first logo I designed in 2011 to brand my design and artwork. I created this design with influences from Arabic writing, Asian Calligraphy, and Graffiti.  I researched lettering and calligraphy until I decided I liked the elements of Arabic writing and Asian Calligraphy. I started out with drawing several sketches then scanning it to Illustrator. I wanted the word Caotime to be read from top to bottom like Asian Calligraphy.

After having more experience with design, I felt it was time to rebrand my logo, but I didn’t have any ideas of what design should be. I knew I wanted the design to represent more on my artwork. The planning process of the design was pretty random.  At the time, I was designing a tattoo and I was doing some research on Pinterest.com. I saw a tattoo of a pencil and a pen parallel from each other and from that moment I knew what I wanted. I wanted the logo to represent more of the artistic side of my work and this was it. After several sketches, I decided to use a pencil, pen, and paintbrush and formed it to a star. The pencil, the pen, and the paintbrush represents my favorite medias to use when producing my artwork.
